Through a dynamic two-part programme, we will learn more about the work through personal presentations and interactive guided tours.

The event will start with a talk about how an artist's location influences their artistic practice. After a short break, we will move into the exhibition to speak with the talents about their installation. Additionally, they will speak about how the presentation of their work was developed for the exhibition.

Do you want to photograph the streets of Amsterdam and improve your creativity and photography skills? Foam's weekly Street Photography Course starts on 3 September. In four weeks, you will work towards a personal series of street photos.

Every week, we focus on a different aspect of street photography. You will get a specific assignment as a starting point and will obtain lots of tips along the way. Since you learn the most when you practice, we will spend most time dedicated to taking photos and working on your series. In the end, all results will be discussed within the group to learn to look critically and to find your own style.

Foam x Pakhuis de Zwijger: Mous Lamrabat

 is a collection of memorable photographs. The portraits come from the period from 1846 to 1954, when Suriname was still a Dutch colony. Together they cover almost a century of Surinamese history. The family photos and stories show the extent to which Surinamese people, under Dutch administration, migrated to all corners of the world. They often found their partner elsewhere, in places like Aruba, Curaçao or Bonaire, in the former Dutch East Indies, the Netherlands or North America. The strength of this collection of personal photos, therefore, lies in the many different connections that stretched all over the world.

Dark Moon: Tales of the Afro-Turkish Diaspora

Afro-Turkish diaspora and Turkey's plural heritage. 

On 10 June, we will explore an evening of coffee readings through warm conversations around the collective practice of drinking and reading Turkish coffee. On 11 June, we will organise a performance and talk at Galerie Mercatorplein.

 and learn to develop your own artistic vision. During this programme, you will be guided in creating your own visual language by producing a small magazine. The zine focuses on telling a story and developing your own photographic vision.

The Foam Forward programme consists of a series of 6 workshops. The workshop will start on Thursday 2 June. After that, it will take place weekly on Thursdays from 19:00 to 21:00 hrs. 

Included in the workshop is a visit to creative space MAQAM and Galerie Mercatorplein, free access to Foam and the production costs of your magazine.

This exhibition at MAQAM in Amsterdam-West is an extension of Lamrabat's current solo show 

 at Foam. The world of Lamrabat is a place where life is at peace and people are loved, no matter where you are from or where you are going. This experience is conveyed when entering the exhibition: you step into the colourful and eclectic haven the artist has created. 

Without rules or restrictions about right or wrong, East or West, strange or normal, each image can be seen and experienced as a story in itself; a scene of Mous Lamrabat’s fantastic world. The artist invites playfulness and a different way of looking at images; he has superimposed his photographs in lenticular prints and printed them on skateboards which visitors are invited to use.

For over 75 years, the photographers of Magnum Photos have not only created photographic icons on both major events and hidden stories but have simultaneously worked on commission. The exhibition 

 shows a side of Magnum that the general public is hardly aware of, and with which its photographers rarely promote themselves. In eight chapters, the audience is taken on a variety of commercial assignments: from 

 group assignments for governments to the hippest fashion photography; and from chic publications for major industries to reporting in the service of NGOs.
