Lorenzo Vitturi, 2013
Pink #2 from the series Dalston Anatomy
Created by Lorenzo Vitturi in 2013. Lorenzo Vitturi collects materials from his neighbourhood market, Ridley Road, in East London and arranges them into vibrant compositions.
Vitturi is interested in decay as it manifests itself in the falling apart of organic materials. He regards photography as a medium to record the precarious temporary condition of things. The temporality of his compositions is comparable to the changing identity of the Ridley Road Market. His photographic still lifes are an attempt to capture the energy of the multicultural market before it falls victim to gentrification.
